Financial Management Benchmarking
The Financial Management Bechmarking Program is Asher’s premier service, that allows participants to assess the relative performance of their financial processes and gain an insight into best practice with a view to improving performance.
Benefits of participation
Benchmarking is a technique for learning from others. Properly carried out, it helps answer the three fundamental questions of business improvement:
-
Where are we now?
-
Where do we want to be?
-
How do we get there?
Participating in the Asher Benchmarking Program allows organizations to:
-
Compare results across a range of industries
-
View detailed performance metrics for each business process included in the study
-
Contrast with internal company and external peer group comparisons
-
Protect confidentiality of company-specific data
-
Learn from hundreds of best practices compiled through the benchmarking participants and other Asher’s research initiatives
This initiative allows participants to compare their performance in cost, cycle time and quality for the finance functions. There are four stages to the benchmarking process.

Benchmarking Deliverables
The reports delivered to clients depend on the level of participation. For example, participants who complete the Comprehensive Survey receive more performance measures in their Benchmarks Report and an Executive Summary.
Clients who complete the Comprehensive Survey will receive between 20 and 50 performance metrics and business drivers for each major module, while those who complete Diagnostic Survey will receive between 30 and 40 in total.
